I'll Never Walk Away Again

Wake you up
In the middle of the night to say
I will never walk away again
I'm never gonna leave this bed
The sound of his voice as he sang the words made her feel warm from head to toe. The song was appropriate, considering full scope of all that had transpired between them, but right now that didn't matter. Not when she felt more complete than she had been in a long time.
"That's a wonderful sentiment." She said, nestling closer against him. "...but can you do me one favor?"
"Anything." he said into the back of her neck.
"Cut your damn hair."
She felt him laugh. "I'll think about it."
"If you don't, then I want a divorce."
"We're not even married."
"We won't ever be if you keep looking like a hippie."

I've had that mini scene in my mind since I sketched it! So happy to share it now.

A *possible* scene far into the future of the Refuge. What happened? I don't know!

Dreaming of Tearing You Apart

Burn everything you love, then burn the ashes. In the end everything collides, my childhood spat back out the monster that you see.

Ookami is an interesting guy to me. He broods, but often with good reason, and not to the point where he is downright mopey and tragic. He is actually a big goofball.  But there is a very visceral side to him that I have been exploring more lately.
And it is fun.

Professional Griefers

The firefight got too hot! Alex, and Ookami from "The Refuge".

Something about that song always gets me pumped for first person shooters.

Ever After

You say I would make a better liar, and never face the music when it's dire... I breathe disaster ever after...
...Can you stay where you are for a while?
I could be your perfect disaster.
You could be my ever after...
Ookami spends a lonely day, reflecting over his coffee of things that were, and could have been.

The Refuge: gags and studies

Most of these have been on my facebook, a couple haven't!

These below were some rejected ideas, but still good for posterity!

This one was from a promo piece I was working on. got really far on it, as you can see, but I decided a redraw was in order when I realized it wouldn't have the right look and composition I was going for.
His condition doesn't get any better though ;c

Speedpaint: School Photo

Well, it's of someone fictional, but that's what it reminds me of, wouldn't you say?

At the Edmonton Expo, I got to watch one of the teachers speedpaint a portrait. I don't know about everyone else, but I love to watch artist's work as it tends to make things "click" faster when I see the process in action! So I decided to give it a try! Ookami up there is my guinea pig since he's my oldest character creation, and it was fun giving him an edge of realism.

I spent a lot of time on this for being a "speed painting"- the problem I run into is that I see the errors along the way so I fret over them. A habit I want to chip away since the urge to fix all the things can be overwhelming! As it is I had to consciously stop myself.

Anyway, already looking forward to the next attempt. Onward!
